We grow where we plant ourselves.

A statement about investing in the future you want has never resonated so much with me. In my early twenties, pushing towards an idealized future of what I thought I wanted kept me dissatisfied, stressed, and depressed.

And then I learned the power of presence. I fell in love with a girl who stayed in the moment, and somehow I learned how to stay in the moment, too. Years past, and I realized I had arrived exactly where I needed to be without even trying.

All I did was plant myself in fertile soil, tended that plot daily, and let it grow.
